The extremely hyped ‘Fight Of The Century’ turned out to be a boring match up and many considered it a waste of time and money…
However, a recent discovery by conspiracy theorists and general boxing fans could lead to a well anticipated rematch against Money and Pacman. The media was stirred up when the official score sheet started doing the rounds around the web and many found an intriguing mistake.
For those who don’t already know, each contestant is given a corner of the boxing ring, and in this case, the corners were red and blue. Floyd was given the blue corner and Manny was given the red corner.
Interestingly, the score sheet says the exact opposite. This could possibly mean that the statistics on which the winner was declared were swapped around, making Manny the true winner. He even claims himself, ‘I thought I won the fight. He didn’t do nothing’.
Of course, not everyone is convinced and neither are we. It seems right to say that Floyd was the definite winner. The Mexicutioner wasn’t playing his usual game to knockout the opponent and the number of punches he threw was 429, around half of what he’d usually pull off. This was just disappointment to the hundreds of people who flew to Las Vegas hoping for a real ‘Fight Of The Century’ that would live up to the mass hype and hysteria.
Nonetheless, this supposed match fixing or scoring error could possibly change the outcome of the game and is up for questioning. What do you guys think?
